Beyond Seminars: The Structural Shift Oduro-Antwi Demands for Local Industry Growth

In an era where global economic realignments are reshaping international partnerships, Mr. Dominic Oduro-Antwi, President of the Ghana–India Trade Advisory Chamber (GITAC) and GITAC International Foundation, stands as a bridge-builder between two emerging markets—Ghana and India. His leadership vision is anchored on innovation, partnership, and practical action, driving a bold agenda that connects enterprise with opportunity.

“Trade must move beyond promises and seminars. It must create factories, empower local producers, and generate employment for our people,” Mr. Oduro-Antwi asserts with calm determination.

For over a decade, Mr. Oduro-Antwi has transformed GITAC from a diplomatic dialogue platform into a dynamic economic movement that facilitates investment across sectors including health, agriculture, energy, real estate, ICT, and manufacturing. His chamber’s approach focuses on bundled services—integrating advisory support, logistics facilitation, marketing exposure, and policy alignment to ensure that both Ghanaian and Indian enterprises benefit equally.

Under his stewardship, GITAC International Foundation extends this mission into social enterprise and human capital development, supporting youth entrepreneurship, maternal healthcare, and vocational training.

“Our role as a Chamber is not just to connect companies—it is to connect dreams, skills, and the human spirit to real economic progress,” he says passionately.

His advocacy for a “structural shift” in Ghana’s local industry remains one of his strongest calls to action. “Empowering local industry is not charity; it’s economic wisdom. When we build value locally, we retain wealth nationally,” Mr. Oduro-Antwi emphasizes, noting that Ghana’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) must be positioned at the heart of trade diplomacy.

Beyond trade, his international influence has earned him recognition among Africa’s notable peace and business icons. With an academic foundation in marketing, a postgraduate qualification from GIMPA, and an MBA from American Liberty University, Mr. Oduro-Antwi brings both academic insight and street-level business realism to his vision. His honorary doctorates from IIC University of Technology (Cambodia) and Yenepoya University (India) further affirm his cross-border leadership in commerce and development.

In his words:

“Real partnerships are built on trust, transparency, and shared growth. Ghana and India have a deep history; it’s time to turn that history into a future of co-creation.”

Through GITAC and its foundation, Mr. Oduro-Antwi continues to advocate for investment-friendly reforms, stronger corporate governance, and the empowerment of local entrepreneurs—creating an ecosystem where bilateral trade becomes a shared journey rather than a transactional affair.

As Ghana deepens its industrialization drive under AfCFTA, and India expands its global footprint through South-South cooperation, leaders like Mr. Dominic Oduro-Antwi are redefining what partnership truly means—from handshake to impact.
