Mama Nyamedea Honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award for Empowerment

Mrs. Kate Amoakoaa, popularly known as Mama Nyamedea, has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement in Women and Men Empowerment Award at the 2026 Global Peace Ambassadors Awards and NGO Conference.

The prestigious recognition was presented on Friday, February 14, 2026, in acknowledgment of her outstanding leadership, compassion and unwavering dedication to the welfare of vulnerable persons in society.

According to the citation, Mrs. Amoakoaa was celebrated for her visionary work and the establishment of impactful associations that have empowered countless individuals, supported the needy and promoted unity, hope and service within the community.

The award organisers commended her long-standing commitment to social transformation, noting that her belief that “peace in our homes leads to peace in our nation” continues to inspire many across the country.

Her contributions to both women and men empowerment initiatives have, over the years, created opportunities for personal growth, strengthened families and fostered harmony within communities.

Presenting the award, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Peace Ambassadors Awards, Ms. Gladys Biney, lauded Mama Nyamedea for her selfless service and remarkable impact on society.

The ceremony formed part of activities marking this year’s conference, which brought together civil society actors, community leaders and development advocates to promote peace-building and sustainable empowerment initiatives.

Mrs. Amoakoaa expressed gratitude for the honour and reaffirmed her commitment to continue serving humanity and championing peace at the grassroots level
