The Founder and Convener of the Peace and Love Conference Awards and Dinner, Amb. Gloria Binney, has underscored the need for couples and individuals to cultivate a culture of appreciation and mutual respect in their relationships.
Speaking in an interview of the Peace and Love Conference Awards and Dinner, Amb. Binney explained that the programme was designed to celebrate people who had positively impacted the lives of others.
According to her, the event provides a unique platform for spouses and loved ones to publicly express gratitude in a dignified and memorable manner.
“The overall idea of the event is to celebrate people who have impacted our lives in the right way. If your husband has been an amazing husband or your wife has been so good to you, this is a beautiful opportunity to say thank you,” she stated.
She explained that participants are given the chance to nominate their husbands, wives or any individual who has made a significant difference in their lives and honour them during the dinner night.
Amb. Binney noted that the awards ceremony often comes as a pleasant surprise to nominees, creating emotional and heartwarming moments.
“You may simply step out with your husband for dinner, only to realise you are being recognised as the best woman of the year. Isn’t that amazing?” she remarked.
She said the conference and dinner night sought to promote peace, love and appreciation within families and society at large.
Delivering a message to lovers and event organisers on how to celebrate one another, Amb. Binney urged couples to practise reciprocity and fairness in their relationships.
“Do unto others what you want them to do for you. Give peace to people you want peace from them,” she advised.
She cautioned that respect and love must be mutual for relationships to thrive.
“You cannot treat your husband like a slave and expect him to treat you like a queen. It will not happen.
Treat people the way you want to be treated, and you will have peace and love,” she added.
The Peace and Love Conference Awards and Dinner 2025 brought together couples and families to celebrate enduring relationships and to promote harmony within homes.
