Prophet Highlights Strategic Importance of Ghana’s Upcoming 70th Milestone

A Ghanaian preacher has called for urgent preparations toward the country’s 70th Independence Anniversary, describing the milestone as a critical opportunity to reset Ghana’s national direction and drive future development.
Francis Amoako Attah, founder of Parliament Chapel International, is urging President John Dramani Mahama to immediately establish a dedicated planning committee to oversee the 2027 celebrations.
According to him, delaying preparations could undermine the potential impact of the anniversary, which he believes could serve as a catalyst for economic and national transformation if handled properly.
He emphasized that the committee selection process should be completed before the end of 2026 to allow adequate time for planning and execution, stressing that the success of the event will depend heavily on the competence and vision of those appointed.
Beyond the celebrations themselves, the preacher suggested that a well-organised anniversary could positively influence Ghana’s economic trajectory, encouraging unity, investment, and renewed national purpose.
He also highlighted Ghana’s historical role on the African continent, echoing the vision of Kwame Nkrumah and urging citizens to believe in the country’s long-term potential.
Meanwhile, as Ghana marked its 69th Independence Anniversary, King Charles III extended congratulations to the government and people of Ghana, praising the enduring relationship between Ghana and the United Kingdom and expressing optimism about continued cooperation within the Commonwealth.
With attention now turning toward the 70th milestone, calls are growing for early planning and strategic coordination to ensure the anniversary delivers lasting national benefits beyond ceremonial celebrations.
