The Head of Gbawe kwatei family, Nii Kwatei Quartey, the chiefs and the kingmakers of Gbawe have officially enstooled a new Dzaasetse, with a stool name Nii Kpakpa Badu II, known in private life as Mr Ebenezer Sackey assuming the revered traditional position.
The installation ceremony, which was marked by rich cultural display and traditional rites, drew elders, opinion leaders, and residents of the Ga community, highlighting the significance of the role within the Ga chieftaincy structure.
As Dzaasetse, Nii Kpakpa Badu II, is expected to serve as a key custodian of customs and traditions, playing a crucial role in matters of succession, arbitration, and the preservation of heritage. The position also carries the responsibility of advising the stool and ensuring unity among the people.
Speaking after his enstoolment, Nii Kpakpa Badu expressed gratitude to the kingmakers and pledged to work towards peace, development, and cohesion in Gbawe. He emphasized the need to resolve lingering disputes and promote progress in the area.
Some elders at the ceremony noted that the installation comes at a critical time when strong traditional leadership is needed to address land, development, and communal concerns within the fast-growing township.
Residents who attended the event welcomed the new Dzaasetse and expressed optimism that his leadership would bring renewed stability and advancement to Gbawe.
The enstoolment reinforces the importance of traditional governance systems in Ghana, particularly within Ga communities, where roles like the Dzaasetse remain central to cultural identity and local administration.
