The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has congratulated Ghanaian pilgrims who successfully completed the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage and commended the Ghana Hajj Board, government and all stakeholders for what he described as a successful Hajj operation.

In a statement issued on June 2, 2026, the National Chief Imam expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful completion of the pilgrimage and prayed for the acceptance of the pilgrims’ acts of worship.

He said he was pleased with the successful performance of the sacred rites by Ghanaian Muslims in the Holy Land of Makkah and prayed that Allah grants them Hajj Mabur (an accepted pilgrimage), forgives their sins and ensures their safe return to their families and communities.

The Chief Imam also praised the Ghana Hajj Board for its dedication and professionalism in organising the pilgrimage, noting that the operation had been widely acknowledged as one of the most successful Hajj exercises in recent years.

He prayed for Allah’s blessings upon all officials and workers who contributed to ensuring the comfort, safety and welfare of Ghanaian pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage period.

The statement further expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama and the Government of Ghana for their support and commitment towards the success of this year’s Hajj.

According to the Chief Imam, the government’s interventions and support played a significant role in ensuring a smooth, dignified and successful pilgrimage experience for Ghanaian Muslims.

As pilgrims begin their journey back home, Sheikh Sharubutu urged them to uphold the values of faith, sacrifice, humility and unity which form the essence of the Hajj experience.

He encouraged them to apply the lessons learned during the pilgrimage to their daily lives and contribute positively to national development and social cohesion.
