Ignore NPP Lies This Time – Agona East MP To Voters
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona East Constituency in the Central Region, Mrs Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr has called on voters not to fall for the leis members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo continue to churn out just to get their votes.
She said Akufo-Addo and his NPP have deceived Ghanaians for far too long and the time has come for the people to ignore the NPP’s deceits.
According to her, the NPP government and President Akufo-Addo performed abysmally for the four years they have been in power, and failed to deliver on many of the campaign promises they made in the 2016 general elections.
“I want to tell you that anytime when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his people come to you to campaign to you for their second bid, I want you to ask them that four years done the lane they have voted for them into political power, the promises they made to you, have they fulfilled such promises and where are the evidence to show that they had fulfilled their campaign promises to the people, especially the people in the Zongo communities in the Agona East. You must ask them that what are the things that they have done to change your lives,” she said and averred that, “Do not allow yourselves for President Akufo-Addo and NPP to deceive you again with lofty promises so that you go and vote for them again to win 2020 general elections to continue to put this country into mess. We are all suffering under the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo because of job loss of many Ghanaians.”
She was addressing the people of Kotokoli Zongo community in Agona East over the weekend, where she advised them to give the NDC the chance to make things better.
She believes that voters in Zongo communities are discerning and will not allow themselves to be deceived again by underperformed President Akufo-Addo and his NPP government.
Mrs Sawyerr agreed to President Akufo-Addo’s assertion that the outcome of the 2020 Presidential Elections would be based on track records, saying that she believes her government under former President John Dramani Mahama performed better than the current President Akufo-Addo.
She said the NDC is ‘promise and do political party’ because “When we make promises, we deliver them.”
Mrs Sawyerr charged Ghanaians to be vigilant on the day of December 2020 general elections and ensure that the NDC annex power to implement policies that will relieve them of the hardship they were currently experiencing under the government of President Akufo-Addo.
She reassured that the Mahama-led government in 2021 after winning the 2020 general elections will deliver father for all leadership to the people across the country.
