Couples Urged To Exhibit Character Of Maturity In Their Relationship
The Minister in charge of the St. Paul Anglican Church at Agona Nyakrom in the Central Region, Rev. Fr. George Kennedy Koomson has advised both married and would-be married couples to cherish their relationship and honour their spouse, as marriage is the first institution ordained and cherished by God.
Speaking to Ghananews.com at the sidelines of the Annual Akwambo Festival by the Chiefs and people of the town, Rev. Fr. Koomson noted that most marriages break up because of lack of respect among the couple, as according to him, such couple are not matured enough to go into marriage.
He described the state of maturity as not in terms of age, but in terms of intelligence, good behavior and character and high moral up-bringing.
He further noted that marriage is a long-term journey that those who embark on it should not look back under any circumstance whether good or bad, but rather know that the person they embark on the journey with are from different backgrounds and with different up-bringing and therefore are bounds to face some form of misunderstandings which in some cases could lead to some minor confrontations.
He described such moment as a test time for the couple, and has therefore urged couples to learn to live in harmony with themselves to prove to others that they have passed the test.
