One God Forever Ltd. Partners with Dr. Bawumia to Launch Ghana Retired Footballers Welfare Association
Retired Ghanaian footballers will soon have a reason to smile with the upcoming launch of the Ghana Retired Footballers Welfare Association (GRFWA), an initiative designed to improve their welfare.
The GRFWA is the result of a collaboration between One God Forever Ltd. and the office of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. The association is dedicated to supporting the well-being of retired Ghanaian footballers, many of whom have faced significant challenges post-retirement.
With offices set to be established across all 16 regions of Ghana, the GRFWA will address both the health and financial needs of retired players. The initiative will provide monthly stipends to those in need, helping them maintain a stable livelihood.
Mohammed Elias, CEO of One God Forever Ltd., a former professional footballer and now a businessman, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s 2024 presidential candidate, for his unwavering support in making this initiative a reality. Elias noted that the Vice President’s involvement reflects his strong commitment to building a better Ghana and improving the lives of retired athletes.
Elias emphasized that the association’s impact will extend beyond individual footballers. It aims to uplift the entire Ghanaian sports fraternity by providing much-needed support and recognition to those who have contributed to the nation’s sporting achievements.
Several prominent former Ghanaian footballers, including Bernard Don Bortey, Jordan Opoku, Joe Tagoe (also known as Bobby Short), Francis Poku, and Eben Dida, are key figures behind the GRFWA.
