ADAM-GH Condemns Arrest Of Sammy Gyamfi
Anchoring Democracy Advocacy Movement Ghana (ADAM-GH) condemns the arrest by the Ghana Police Service of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Communication Officer, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, who was detain by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service after a radio morning show at the premise of United Television in Accra.
The group described the arrest by the Ghana Police Service as Rambo style which according to them is unprofessional and is creating unnecessary tension in the country.
In a press statement signed by the Executive Secretary of ADAM-GH Mr. Azubila Salam Emmanuel sighted by this portal stated that this year is an election year and Ghanaians expect the Police to be a bit professional in their dealings to avoid creating unnecessary tension in the country prior to the December 2020 Elections.
He said the way government is using the police and security personnel to intimidate top officials of the biggest opposition party is a worrying situation for the peace of the country.
He added that the National Chairman of the NDC Mr. Samuel Fosu Ampofo suffered same intimidation and now the National Communication officer going through same treatment.
ADAM-GH, he said believes such action of the government is building unnecessary tension which is dangerous to the peace and security of the country.
The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was picked up by personnel from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and the Police CID at the premises of UTV.
The NDC Communication Officer was whisked away in a pick up after appearing on the Morning Show of the station.
