Alleged Kumasi Gay Man Escape From Chief’s Custody After Being Brutally Assaulted

On the 13th day of February 2023, Abdul Malik Adam, a resident of Sawaba a suburb of Ashanti Region and his alleged gay partner were attacked and brutally assaulted by a group of young men at Sampa.

A young man believed to be in his late twenties escaped from the Chiefs and people of Sampa in the Bono Region of Ghana after being brutally assaulted for practicing homosexualism.

On the 13th day of February 2023, Abdul Malik Adam, a resident of Sawaba a suburb of Ashanti Region and his alleged gay partner were attacked and brutally assaulted by a group of young men at Sampa.

Unimpeachable sources within the Sampa Palace revealed that Abdul Malik Adam who was contracted to work as a mason was caught with his gay partner and both of them were send to the Sampa Chief’s Palace for punishment but fortunately for him, on 18th of February 2023, he managed to escape.

The source stated that it is against the tradition of the land for one to escape punishment from a chief of the land hence the youth have laid an ambush to capture him by hook or crook for him to face the punishment and perform the necessary rituals to purify the land.

The sources further revealed that since Abdul Malik Adam came to the town he was suspected to be a gay which compelled the youth to lay ambush and was finally caught in the process.

The sources added that Abdul Malik Adam may lure other young people in the act which is typically against the culture and values of not only the town but Ghana at large.

According to the source the youth have alerted other members of the community.

The source also indicated that the youth have spread information to other communities to be on the lookout for him because he escaped from the Chief’s punishment which is an abomination per their tradition.

However, a source close to Abdul Malik Adam revealed that he had to flee out of town due to several attacks, threats and stigmatization from the community.
