The National Democratic Congress NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Awutu Senya East Constituency Hon. Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor has filed a writ at the High Court of Ghana, Human Rights Division against the InÂspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, the Attorney General, and the Kasoa Regional Commander.
The applicant is praying the court to order the IGP to release her legally registered firearm which was seized during her arrest.
The Applicant is also asking the court to direct the IGP, the AG and the Kasoa Police Commander to settle the Legal Fees that will be incurred in the pursuance of the suit as well as cost and any other order (s) deemed fit by the Honourable Court.
The court has scheduled the case for hearing on Monday, July 29th 2024.
