Book on Hurdles and Prospects Of African Integration Focusing on Western Sahara Launched At the University of Ghana

Having attained great success in tanzania, kenya and south Africa, working with the Universities of Irringa, Kenyatta and Johannesburg, the book of the two tanzanian historians, “Hurdles and Prospects of African integration, the Question of Western Sahara” has been launched at the School of African Studies, University of Ghana Legon in Accra , the Republic of Ghana,West Africa

The Book was edited and published by the African Proper Education Network, APE.
The launch attracted a huge number of participants which included academicians, historians and Security analysts from the Departments of History and Social Sciences.

This event also attracted media practitioners from different media stations due to the nature of the topics that were discussed, in relation to issues that affect west africans in particular and the global community at large.
During his presentation, the tanzanian historian, Mr. Chuhila Maxmillian gave a historical background of the issues and challenges confronting the sahara.
He pointed out the historical link between the moroccan sultans and the saharaoui tribes according to the historical archives on which he depended on during his visit to Saharan provinces of Layoune and Dakhala two cities situated in the south part of Morocco.

In his presentation He called for a collective african integration in the region in particular and in Africa in general arguing that Moroccans themselves are able to find a solution to their internal issues since seperatism and seperation do not defend the interests of africa as unified content in terms of culture and customs in spite of its ethnic and linguistic diversity.
In his opinion , unity and integration are the soft arms to face any outside threat. his presentation demonstrated a Sahara region that has seen socio-economic development due the efforts made by the Moroccan government.
He portrays the Moroccan King as a Great leader who has good intention in his quest to keep deploying boundless material and moral efforts to make the Sahara region a hub for development and investments.
He describes the Sahara as a region that boasts of all the living conditions in contradiction to what people are portraying and commercializing on social networks.
the historian further called for an effective and constructive dialogue among all Moroccans based on common interests in order to put an end to the long- term conflict taking into consideration the efforts made by the United nations and the African union .
