Dr. Bawumia Meets Muslim Clerics and Chiefs For Prayers Ahead Of December Polls 

The Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Tuesday December 3, 2024 met Muslim Clerics, Chiefs and opinion leaders within the Muslim communities in Accra.

The gathering was to offer special Quran recitation, prayers and thanksgiving for Dr. Bawumia ahead of the upcoming general election.

The National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Osuman Nuhu Sharubutu offered a prayers for the country ahead of the election immediately after the Quran recitation.

Dr. Bawumia, therefore, asked the Chief Imam to pray for peace and stability of the country ahead of the election and for him to succeed as the next President of Ghana.

The gathering offered the Vice President and Presidential candidate of the NPP the opportunity to interact with the Chiefs and Clerics on the need to vote massively for him and the NPP.

He expressed optimism in winning the December 7 election due to his good record as Vice President and the effort he has put in place by touring all to 275 constituency across the country.

He added that major policies such as the Free Senior High School, Agenda 111, provision on Ambulances, medical drones among others are initiatives he championed as a Vice President.

According to him education is the key to the development of every nation and the Quran has permitted Muslims to go as far as Chaina to seek education and knowledge which compelled him to champion the Free SHS policy that has enrolled about 5.7 millions Ghanaian children with many children from the North and Zongo benefitting from it.

He revealed that teachers and nursing training allowances were restored as well as that of Arabic Instructors. He added that he champion idea of one – constituency – one Ambulance which saw the purchase of 307 ambulances which are currently working across the districts of the country.

He stated that he brought three major initiatives to boost the National Health Insurance which includes addition of Childhood cancer, sickle cell disease and Kidney dialysis.

He said the government embarked on a six months pilot program on kidney dialysis and it has been added to the health insurance.

The National Chief Imam applauded the vice president for his development initiatives and express pray that Allah will see him through and grant his desire of becoming the president of Ghana.
