As the festive season ushers in renewed hope, heightened movement, and moments of celebration across Ghana, Naa Maku Osɔŋaa I,“Osu Oblantaia Manye” and Development Queenmother, has issued a heartfelt and timely message to her staff, Osu citizens in the diaspora and Ghanaians at large: celebrate with responsibility, live with purpose, and keep faith at the centre of the season.
The Queenmother spoke with clarity, compassion, and moral authority blending tradition, leadership, and Christian values in a message aimed at safeguarding lives while strengthening national unity.
Christmas, Naa Maku Osɔŋaa I noted, is more than festivity it is a season of reflection and recommitment to values that bind communities together.
“Christmas is not just about celebration; it is about reflection, gratitude, and responsibility to one another,” she said.
“As we gather with family and friends, we must remember that life itself is a gift that must be protected.”
She extended warm Christmas wishes to her traditional council, development partners, staff, and residents of Osu, emphasizing that peace and togetherness remain the foundation of meaningful progress.
“Life is sacred. No celebration is worth a life lost to carelessness.”
Against the backdrop of increased road traffic incidents during the festive period, the Osu Oblantaia Manye issued a firm but compassionate appeal to motorists and revelers.
“I plead with all drivers and road users: watch what you eat, what you drink, and how you drive,” she cautioned.
“If you drink, do not drive. If you are tired, rest. Life is sacred.”
Her words echo growing national concerns over festive season road accidents, positioning traditional leadership as a key voice in public safety advocacy.
Central to Naa Maku Osɔŋaa I’s message is a clear spiritual reminder: Christ must remain the focus of Christmas.
“In all the noise and excitement, let Jesus Christ be our ultimate focus,” she said.
“His teachings love, humility, sacrifice are what our families, our communities, and our nation truly need.”
She stressed that faith driven leadership and moral consciousness are essential for sustainable development and peaceful coexistence.
“When Christ is at the centre, our decisions become wiser and our communities become stronger”
As the year draws to a close, the Development Queenmother expressed optimism for the future, calling on citizens to enter 2026 with renewed discipline, unity, and civic responsibility.
“I see 2026 as a year of restoration and growth,”
she said.
Naa Maku Osɔŋaa I concluded with a blessing that encapsulates her leadership philosophy firm, compassionate, and forward looking.
“I wish all my staff, the people of Osu, and all Ghanaians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous, peaceful 2026,” she said.
“May God guide our steps, protect our journeys, and bless our homeland.”
“If we walk in unity, respect our laws, and care for one another, Ghana will continue to rise.”
