IGP Petitioned Over Conduct Of Nungua Wulomo
The Chief of Staff of Nungua Mr. Frank Lewi has through his lawyers from the Jean Maurellet chambers petitioned the Inspector General of Police(IGP) to cause the arrest and investigate the Gborbu Wulomo of Nungua for his instigation of violent conduct last Thursday when the the paramount Chief of the Nungua Traditional Area and his elders and subjects were celebrating the usual Ohenease Festival as part of the main Kpledzo Festival.
He stated that for some unknown reasons, the Gborbu Wulomo of Nungua had mobilized certain persons and land guards to attack the said paramount Chief while riding in his palanquin at the material time with stones, bottles and sticks.
They also burnt lorry tyres to block the street to prevent the Chief of Nungua King Odaifo Wulentsi III (the Vice President of Greater Accra Regional House Of Chiefs) from procession around the Gborbu Wulomo’s shrine on the way to the Royal Cemetery of Nungua.
He stated that there are video and photos showing those whom the said Gborbu Wulome had recruited to attack the paramount chief who had to be brought out of his palanquin in the process thereby putting an end to the said Festival. Some of those who were captured in pictures are Asafoatse Kakai, Atie Labia, Gborbu Wornu, Matthew Okraku, and one Peter.
