Keep Your Environment Clean At All Times – Gbetsile Residents Advised
Residents of Gbetsile Obeye, a suburb within the Kpone Katamanso Municipality have been advised to maintain clean environment at all times as the world battles with the novel Corona virus pandemic.
The head of the Kojowe Royal Clan of Kpone Gbetsile-Obeye, Numo Emmanuel Tetteh Amankwah alias Numo Naanatse said it is important for residents to uphold personal hygiene as a key measure in fighting the virus.
He said this when advising some residents of the community who called on him at his prayer camp, at Gbetsile Obeye to know some historical fact about the community.
According to the octogenarian, Numo Naanatse noted that Gbetsile is a community under the Kpone Katamanso Municipality but traditionally falls under the umbrella body of the Kpone Paramount Stool.
He said Gbetsile is made up of two royal Clans, namely Kojowe Clan and the Sanshie Clan.
“Although the Kojowe people historically first settled here at Obeye, we were later joined by our brothers from Sanshie” he quickly added
He said ” hitherto we did things together as one big family until recent times when some selfish individuals decided to bring in chieftaincy dispute to disrupt our peaceful consistence. We hitherto did everything together; including the allocation of lands and administration of the area” he said
Numo Naanatse further stated that ” we from the Kojowe people are peace loving and very tolerant and understanding; So we peacefully coexisted with our brothers”.
He said, “due to the emergence of dispute as to who is who or who owns what, we decided to allow our brothers from Sanshie to control and manage the jurisdictions where they first settled as we the Kojowe people also control and manage affairs at our jurisdiction where we first settled which is Obeye”
He said although Gbetsile seem to be a complete whole, the two clans have their own jurisdiction.
The secretary to the Kojowe Clan at Obeye, Benjamin Nortey on his part noted that “it has become necessary to embark on this education drive as developers are being unnecessarily harrassed”.
He said ” we have thus mounted a sign post to aid residents to know where the Obeye boundary begins; this will soon be done at all boundary lines to educate residents and also save people from being swindled by some person’s parading as custodians of the land”. He stressed
