Mercy Social Centre Donates Stationery, Uniforms To Al-Rahma Islamic Complex, Others

Mercy Social Center a subsidiary of DirectAid Ghana, an Islamic non-governmental organisation (NGO), has donated stationery worth over thousands of Ghana Cedis to three schools within the Adentan Municipality to enhance teaching and learning.
The donated items include Graphboard, white board markers, brushes, solution tapes, textbooks, technical skills equipment, exercise books, printing machines and scanners, 500 school uniforms, writing boards, fine glue, poster colors, crayons, pens, pencils and rulers,
The rest are Creative Arts 1 to 5, Practical English Language 1, perfect Series Our World and Our People, sharpeners, sewing machine, among others.
The beneficiary schools include, Mercy Islamic Primary, Mercy Islamic JHS and Al-Rahma Islamic Complex
The Center Director of Mercy Social Center and Deputy Country Director of DirectAid Ghana, Mr. Ali Abdul Salam revealed that the donation was to alleviate the plight of the school children in accessing quality education.
He added that DirctAid Ghana has over the years been development partners of the government when it comes to education as they have supported a number of schools.
The Assembly man for New Adentan Electoral Area Hon. Mohammed Nurudeen, expressed gratitude to Mercy Social Center and DirectAid for their contribution and support to the community.
He revealed that the donation is the third one he is gracing and therefore called on other organizations to emulate the Mercy Social Center and DirectAid in providing the necessary teaching and learning materials for schools in the community.
He urged other organizations to also come out and support the schools within the community with the little they have.
The Director of Islamic Units, Mr. Mumin Alhassan stated that it is important as humans to learn how to give adding that there is much reward in giving.
He said if all organizations support the schools there will be no school that will lack any teaching and learning materials.
Teachers from the various schools received the items and expressed their gratitude to the center and expressed the hope that the donation would go a long way to reduce the demands of the school pupils in the near future.
