Nana Amoakohene II Donates Food, Relief Items To Residents Of Tabre
The Chief of Tabre, a community near Jamasi in the Ashanti region, Nana Amoakohene II, with support from some of his elders including Obaapanyin, Nana Achiaa II, Abusuapanin Kwabena Sarpong and the entire Asona Family of Tabre have donated food items worth GHC 15, 000 as a token to the people of Tabre in these difficult period of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Nana Amoakohene II said the items were to provide temporary relief to the about 150 households in his community amidst the hardship unleashed as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Ghana and Globally.
The food items distributed by Nana Amoakohene II included rice, cooking oil, tin fish (sardines), soft drinks and hand sanitizers which were shared to all the about 150 households in the Tabre township.
Many lives and communities have severely been shattered since the emergence of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which has plagued the world from the later part of 2019 till date.
Economies of nations have virtually come to a halt and subsequently affecting numerous livelihoods.
Measures including restrictions on movements of persons in many countries including Ghana has crippled some households in Ghana and across the World.
In Ghana, the President of the Republic announced restrictions on the movements of persons in some parts of the country from March 30th to April 19, 2020 in order to allow the state undertake measures to control the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country. That directive undeniably unleashed economic hardship on many whose daily income and survival is heavily dependent on their ability to move out of their homes.
It is in view of this severe impact of such measures aimed curbing the spread of the COVID-19 on people that the Chief of Tabre and some of his elders decided to come to the aid of the cherished people of Tabre by giving each household at least one 5kg of rice, 1 ltr of cooking oil, 4tins of sardine, a pack of soft drinks and 300ml of sanitizer as a token to support government’s efforts in alleviating hardships on Ghanaians and the people of Tabre in particular.
Nana Amoakohene II, known in private life as Clement Obeng Nyantakyi who incessantly try to meet the needs of his people, assured the people of Tabre that his outfit will do all it can to support them at all times particularly in difficult situations such as this period of COVID-19.
The entire Tabre Township were full of gratitude for the benevolent gesture by their chief and prayed that God continue to bless him, his reign and elders in order for them to bless others.
