NEW SOUTH KOREA IMMIGRATION POLICY NOTICE ON VOLUNTARY DEPARTURE
The Ghana Union in South Korea (GhanaSko) has organized their first meeting in 2020 to sensitize it’s members on important issues confronting large number of the membership.
The gathering took place in Paju city with Mr. Stephen Panyin Danso Consular/Welfare in the Ghana Embassy in Seoul highlighted on the key points of the Voluntary departure.
Immigrants are therefore entreated to understand the informations below vividly discussed at the gathering on Sunday 26th of January 2020.
◆ All persons who have overstayed their visas in Korea but has a valid and unexpired Ghanaian passport can voluntarily depart Korea by June, 2020, without any penalty payments (amount not confirmed).
◆ Same applies to persons who have overstayed their visas and with invalid or expired Ghanaian passport and seeking Travel Certificate (TC). In so far as you wait until after June, automatically you shall be paying the fine should you decide to voluntarily depart.
◆ Such persons in the above category, stand a chance to travel back to Korea only if they voluntarily depart before July, 2020.
◆ The new immigration policy from the Korea Ministry of Justice will take full effect from July, 2020.
◆ You must first visit the nearest Immigration center near with a valid passport and your flight tickets to fill some forms at the immigration and wait for not more than 15 days before you would be given a green light to leave the country.
