Spiritual Vision of Chaos in Mexico Reignites Debate Ahead of World Cup 2026

A prophecy by Ghanaian preacher, Founder of Parliament Chapel International Apostle Francis Amoako Atta concerning chaos in Mexico ahead of the FIFA World Cup has resurfaced following deadly security operations and subsequent disturbances in parts of the country.

On January 11, 2026, Apostle Amoako Atta publicly disclosed during a church service that he had a spiritual encounter about Mexico and the upcoming global football tournament.

According to him, he foresaw an atmosphere of tension and danger unlike previous editions of the competition.

“I have never seen a World Cup that has been so much under attack like the coming one… Four years ago in Qatar it wasn’t like that. But this one… the cartels have targeted Mexico,” he reportedly stated, referencing the last tournament hosted in Qatar in 2022.

He later sent a voice message on January 31 to a platform of international prophets and clergy, describing what he called a “terrible dream and vision” involving military deployment, fear among citizens, and widespread instability in Mexico.

He urged sustained prayer from February through April, warning that safety concerns could affect countries preparing to participate in the tournament.

Weeks after those declarations, Mexican authorities confirmed the killing of a powerful cartel figure, an operation that triggered retaliatory disturbances in several areas.

Following the security operation, reports indicated road blockades, heightened military presence, and temporary disruptions in parts of the country as authorities moved to restore calm.

The unrest has drawn international attention, particularly as Mexico prepares to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside the United States and Canada. Mexican officials have since reassured the global community that security measures are being strengthened to guarantee the safety of residents and visitors.

Supporters of Apostle Amoako Atta say recent developments align with the warning he shared weeks earlier.

However, government authorities in Mexico maintain that the situation is under control and that preparations for the World Cup remain on course.

As global focus intensifies on Mexico’s security environment, the intersection of prophetic claims and unfolding real-world events has added a spiritual dimension to conversations surrounding the highly anticipated tournament.
