Tema International School Celebrates 21 Years of Excellence and the 5th Anniversary of its Primary School Campus

Tema International School (TIS), a beacon of holistic education, proudly celebrates a double milestone this year: 21 years of shaping young minds and the 5th anniversary of its Primary School Campus. These celebrations mark not just the school’s growth but also the enduring vision and values laid down by its Co-Founders, the late Mr. A. A. Adjavon and Mrs. Comfort Adzo Adjavon.

Since its inception on 3 October 2003, TIS has dedicated itself to nurturing individuals who are ready to embrace challenges and contribute positively to the world. With the theme “Embracing Growth: Building a Better World Together,” the school is embarking on a week-long celebration to reflect on its journey, honour its heritage, and look forward to the future.

Spirit Week Kicks Off:

The celebrations commenced with a spiritual uplift at The Zion Encounter, setting a reverent tone for the week’s events. Students, staff, alumni, and the TIS community came together for an evening of music, reflection, and fellowship, acknowledging the school’s 21-year journey of faith, growth, and excellence.

Upcoming Highlights:

• Founders’ Week Assembly: The celebrations continue with a Special Founders’ Week Assembly on Monday, 30 September. This event also marks SDG Day, highlighting the school’s commitment to global awareness and sustainable development.

• Founders’ Day: On Thursday, 3 October, TIS will host Founders’ Day under the sub-theme “We Are One,” to honour the school’s Co-Founders and celebrate the diverse fabric of its community. The day will feature special performances from students across the Primary and Secondary campuses, followed by a celebratory lunch.

• Fun Fair: On Saturday, 5 October, a lively Fun Fair will bring together students, staff, alumni, and friends for a day of excitement, games, and shared memories. This event provides a chance for the TIS family to reconnect and celebrate their shared journey.

• Thanksgiving Service: The week-long celebrations will culminate in a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, 6 October, a time for gratitude and reflection on the school’s remarkable journey.

Giving Back: The EducAid Mante Initiative

As part of the anniversary festivities, TIS is launching the EducAid Mante Initiative, led by the IB Class of 2026. The project aims to raise GHC 150,000.00 to support a community school in Afienya East. For 25 years, this school has been a pillar of education in its community despite limited resources. The funds raised will refurbish the school, provide essential learning materials, and enhance its facilities.

A Legacy of Impact and Excellence:

Since its establishment, TIS has been guided by a mission to nurture young adults equipped to make the world a better place. The Primary Campus, celebrating its 5th anniversary, has extended this mission, fostering a nurturing environment for younger learners to thrive. Through its commitment to academic excellence, experiential learning, and service, TIS has built a legacy of empowering students to be compassionate, knowledgeable, and impactful leaders.

Looking Forward:

As TIS marks these milestones, the school reflects on its journey of growth, innovation, and the unwavering support of its community. The celebration is a look back and a step forward, reaffirming the school’s dedication to building a better world together.
