UEW Senior Staff Association: Kingsley Amoakwah Is Not Our Chairman
The Management Committee of the Senior Staff Association of the University of Education, Winneba including Winneba, Kumasi, Mampong and Ajumako campuses, has indicated that Mr. Kingsley Amoakwah, who is still holding himself as chairman of the Association was impeached due to embezzlement of Thirty Four Thousand Eight Hundred Cedis (GHS34,800.00) of Association funds for which deductions are being effected monthly from his salary at the University.
According to the Management Committee, Mr. Kingsley Amoakwah has since December 2018 ceased to be the Chairman of the Association and cannot purport to represent the in any form or at any forum.
In a statement signed by its Assistant Secretary, the Committee stated that the the Writ filed by Kingsley Amoakwah served on the Vice-Chancellor and the University of Education, Winneba, asking the Winneba high court to restrain Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni from holding himself as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University, is not a position taken by the Committee.
“For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state unequivocally that the statement made by Mr. Kingsley Amoakwah to the effect that he represents the Association as Chairman is false and intended to deceive the general public for his own personal gain.”
The Statement also pointed out that, Mr. Kingsley Amoakwah is not abreast of issues concerning the Association and therefore, the Committee disassociates itself from all statements and actions that seek to represent the Association.
