Zonda Tec Ghana Launches New Vehicle Lineup at Dzorwulu Branch Re-Opening

Zonda Tec Ghana Ltd has officially unveiled its newest range of vehicles during a grand re-opening ceremony held yesterday at the company’s ultra-modern Dzorwulu Branch in Accra.

The event drew automobile enthusiasts, industry stakeholders, and customers eager to experience the latest additions to the Zonda Tec lineup.

The ceremony formed part of the company’s renewed commitment to shaping the future of mobility in Ghana.

Under the theme “The Future in Motion,” Zonda Tec introduced two major models, the Tank 700 Plug-in Hybrid SUV and the Souo motorcycle signaling the company’s continuous drive toward innovation, enhanced performance, and improved customer experience.

Addressing attendees, the Chief Executive Officer of Zonda Tec Ghana, Madam Yang Yang, said the re-opening represents her vision to set a new national standard for automobile and equipment services in Ghana.

She recounted how her inspiration for an ultra-modern Ghana showroom came during a visit to Dubai, where she admired advanced automotive infrastructure and envisioned replicating the experience locally.

“I told my husband I wanted an ultra-modern showroom like the ones I saw in Dubai. Today, I believe I have brought Dubai to Ghana,” she said.

Madam Yang noted that the new Dzorwulu branch is designed to serve as a one-stop shop for customers across Accra, Tema, Kasoa, and beyond offering heavy-duty equipment including tipper trucks, bulldozers, excavators, drillers, as well as the latest Chinese automotive technologies in SUVs and pickups.

The showroom currently features the newest automatic Sino Truck models and Zonda Tec’s latest SUVs, including the Tank 700.

Highlighting the features of the new Tank 700, Madam Yang explained that it is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), allowing users to charge with electricity or fuel, significantly reducing monthly fuel costs.

She disclosed that driving a Tank 700 could cost as low as GHC 700 per month in fuel expenses.

Sharing her personal experience, she stated that she previously spent GHC 1,800 on fuel traveling between Accra and Tema, and about GHC 11,000 every 10 days, a cost drastically reduced after switching from a Lexus to the hybrid Tank 500.

According to her, the Tank 700 offers even more luxury at a cost lower than a Land Cruiser.

Madam Yang also revealed that this year marks her 19th year in Ghana, while Zonda Tec celebrates 15 years of operations. Within the year, the company has opened over 10 new branches, including its latest in Sunyani, and is currently constructing its Tarkwa branch.

The company is preparing to open Phase Three of its assembly plant, which she described as the largest in Ghana, with the capacity to assemble 1,000 vehicles every month. The Tarkwa branch is expected to focus heavily on mining equipment.

She expressed gratitude to the Minister of Trade for accompanying her to Chinese automotive factories, including Chery and Great Wall Motors, to attract further investment into Ghana.

According to her, China’s advanced supply chain, combined with Ghana’s talented and hardworking youth, provides the ideal environment for automotive manufacturing and export.

The Minister of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, praised Zonda Tec for its continuous investment in Ghana’s automotive sector. She noted that her trips to China were aimed at encouraging existing investors like Zonda Tec to expand their operations.

She lauded the unveiling of the Tank 700 PHEV, describing it as a symbol of innovation, efficiency, and Ghana’s forward march toward a greener future.

Hon. Ofosu-Adjare emphasized the government’s ongoing review of the Ghana Automotive Development Policy (GADP) to include hybrid and electric vehicles, which will boost local assembly, affordability, and climate sustainability.

She highlighted Zonda Tec’s contribution to job creation, technology transfer, and strengthening Ghana and China economic relations.

The company currently employs over 600 Ghanaians and runs a comprehensive training system for vehicle assembly and modern automotive technologies.

“This magnificent facility is a shining example of what visionary private-sector investment can achieve,” she said. “Let this showroom be a gateway for more Ghanaians to access world-class vehicles assembled with Ghanaian hands and hearts.”

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting private-sector growth and industrialization under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.

The grand re-opening of Zonda Tec’s Dzorwulu showroom marks a significant milestone for the company and the country’s automotive industry.

With the introduction of new hybrid technologies, expanded assembly capacity, and strong investor confidence, Zonda Tec positions itself as a key player in Ghana’s journey toward sustainable mobility and industrial advancement.
