2024 Elections: Adentan Municipality Chief Imam holds Capacity Building Workshop For Community Imams
The Adentan Municipal Chief Imam, Sheikh Muhammed mutawakil has held a two-day capacity-building workshop for community Imams.
The workshop supported by the DirectAid Society Ghana and support from Race 4 Aid was aimed at enhancing the Community Imams sermon to suit contemporary trends.
The 2 day workshop brought together esteemed Imams from various mosques within the Municipality, including Imam Hussein of Frafraha Central Mosque, Imam Yussuf Adam of Research Last Stop Masjid, and Imam Abdul Rahim of Dagomba Chief Mosque.
The workshop offered the participants the opportunity to shared the challenges they face as scholars as well as interact with the resource persons on the way to seek session yielded diverse solutions, fostering a spirit of collaboration and knowledge sharing among the Imams.
Guiding the participants on effective methods for crafting impactful sermons, an Egyptian scholar, Sheikh Abass emphasized the importance of diversity in preaching and cautioned the community Imams against extremist sermons.
Addressing the participants, the Chief Imam of Adentan Municipal, Sheikh Mohammed Mutawakil Abubakari emphasized the need for the Imams to tailor their sermons to reflect current political and geopolitical trends in the country.
He added that as the 2024 elections approaches, Imams all over the country must be circumspect in their preachings and ensure that they use their platforms to promote peace and discourage any form of violence among their congregants.
According to him, he has used his office to organize many capacity building programs and other initiatives this year which is aimed at fostering harmony among Muslim Imams and the youth within the Municipality.
The participants expressed gratitude to the organizers and called for more of such initiatives.
