Amoako Attah Says Migration Challenges Are Part of “Divine Lessons”

Founder and Leader of Parliament Chapel International (PCI), Apostle Francis Amoako Attah, has attributed the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa to deeper spiritual and historical dynamics, while urging Ghanaians abroad to reconsider perceptions about life in Ghana.

Speaking on Angel TV, the cleric addressed growing concerns about xenophobia and migration, arguing that many Ghanaians have developed a negative perception of their home country and are seeking opportunities abroad at all costs.

He said there is a widespread belief among some citizens that “Ghana is not a country to live in,” a mindset he believes is influencing migration decisions.

Apostle Amoako Attah, however, described Ghana as a spiritually significant nation, referring to it as “Zion in Africa,” and warned against treating the country lightly in international relations.

He suggested that South Africa had “made a mistake” in the way foreign nationals are treated, particularly Ghanaians, claiming that those who are compelled to leave countries often depart with “blessings.”

Citing historical and biblical references, he linked migration and deportation narratives to spiritual lessons, referencing the story of Abraham in Genesis as an example of displacement leading to renewal and prosperity.

He further argued that setbacks experienced by individuals abroad should be seen as opportunities for growth rather than failure, encouraging returnees from South Africa to return with ideas and renewed purpose.

“There is no failure in the Kingdom of God; every setback is a lesson,” he said, adding that challenges should refine individuals rather than discourage them.

The preacher also rejected notions of racial superiority, stating that “the only thing that can be better is the brain,” not race.

He concluded by urging Ghanaians abroad and those returning home to focus on innovation and nation-building, insisting that Ghana has the potential to thrive through human ingenuity and divine purpose.
