Firdaus Foundation Inaugurates Ultra-modern Hostel For Scholarship Students’
As part of its efforts to ensure the welfare of its scholarship students, Firdaus Foundation has inaugurated an ultramodern hostel facility for its scholarship students in Accra.
Firdaus Foundation is a nonprofitable organization which seeks the welfare of the needy and the less privileged in the society, regardless of race or religion.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony , the Chief Director of Firdaus Foundation, Sheik Salisu Hussien stated that the facility will accommodate 30 male students who have gained scholarship from the Foundation.
He revealed that the Foundation has over the years acommodate its scholarship students in rented apartments as hostel which comes with a cost adding that the ultramodern hostel will help the Foundation to save money than the previous years.
According to him scholarship project giving by his outfit comprises accommodation in the hostel, three square meals, paid tuition fees, unique library facility as well as intensive moral lessons by prominent resource persons and scholars.
Firdaus Foundation for Social Services (FFSS) according to him is a fully registered and established in 2006 and have since made a huge impact in the lives of people through its programs to promote integrated development and environmental custodianship with a focus on sustainable livelihoods.
The Foundation, he said has significantly contributed in the area of education by building schools, construction of wells across the country, building of Mosques, donation of food and items, cash, health screening among others to the poor and needy in the society.
He further revealed that they have built about 120 schools across the country of which some of the schools are being run by the Foundation while others are being managed by government of Ghana in collaboration with the communities in which the schools were located.
He said the Foundation had devoted its services to help the needy in providing quality and efficient services and skills training through youth in agriculture.
He reiterated that Firdaus Foundation has dug 826 hand-pump wells and 151 mechanized boreholes across the country and has supported the orthopedic training and a rehabilitation centre at Adoagyiri-Nsawam in the Eastern Region and recently presented 10 prosthetic legs to children with disability at the Centre.
Sheikh Salisu Hussien disclosed that the Foundation has built about 620 mosques in all the regions of Ghana and also assists the poor and the needy who conceive business ideas with capital, stores, accoutrements and any support they need to start their businesses to cater for their families.
The foundation he revealed has distributed 4,550 rams and 350 cattle to needy Muslims across the country for EIDUL- ADHA festivities and also provided meals to the needy during the month of Ramadan at various mosques.
We have periodically distributed food items including bags of rice, maize, beans, detergents, tomatoes paste, sugar and milks to support the needy in the society .
