Government Sets-Up Satellite Office To Process Passports For Prospective Hajj pilgrims

The Minister Of Foreign Affairs, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has announced the establishment of satellite office at the Hajj Village in Accra to speedily process passports for prospective Hajj pilgrims who are yet to acquire passports.
According to the Minister, the newly established office at the Hajj Village is expected to significantly reduce the waiting time for passport applications by intended Hajj pilgrims.
He stated that the cost of expedited passport processing has been reduced to make it more affordable for pilgrims.
He revealed that the cost of expedited passport processing has been subsidised from the usual GH¢700, to GH¢500 for a 32-page passport, which will be processed within three (3) days for prospective Hajj applicants.
This initiative forms part of President Mahama commitment in ensuring a seamless travel experience for Ghanaian Muslims undertaking the sacred pilgrimage.
In an interview with the media, Hon. Alhaji Collins Dauda expressed his satisfaction with the move, emphasising its positive impact on the Muslim community and the pilgrimage process in Ghana.
According to him the maximum of three days for applicants to get their passport is a welcome message every Muslim in Ghana should be happy of, adding that it will enhance the process of pilgrimage in Ghana too ” Dauda said.
With the introduction of a more efficient passport processing system for Hajj pilgrims, the government aims to eliminate bureaucratic delays and ensure a seamless travel experience.
