Hajj Village To Host Special Farewell Jummah For Over 6,000 Ghanaian Pilgrims

The Head of the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) Dawa Team, Sheikh Abdul Malik Maiga, is expected to lead the Farewell Jummah prayers for Ghanaian prospective pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The special prayers are scheduled to take place on Friday, April 15, 2026, at 12 noon at the Hajj Village in Accra.
The theme for the Farewell Jummah prayers is: “There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the hell fire than the day of Arafat.”
According to Sheikh Abdul Malik Maiga, the final Friday prayers at the Hajj Village will serve as a moment of thanksgiving to Allah for granting prospective pilgrims the opportunity to embark on this year’s spiritual journey.
He explained that the prayers will also be used to seek Allah’s blessings and protection for the over 6,000 Ghanaian prospective pilgrims expected to travel to Saudi Arabia for the annual Islamic pilgrimage.
Sheikh Maiga further noted that special prayers would be offered for Ghana, the President and his appointees, the Chairman of the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana, Hon. Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, Hajj Board members, accredited Hajj agents, as well as all stakeholders contributing to the success of the pilgrimage.
He also prayed for Muslims who could not make this year’s pilgrimage, asking Allah to grant them the opportunity to participate in future Hajj exercises.
The PAOG Dawa Team has therefore extended an open invitation to the Muslim community and the general public to be part of what it described as a historic spiritual gathering ahead of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
The message was conveyed in a statement from the PAOG Communication Directorate on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
