Management of Ghana Water Co. Ltd Urged To Proceed To Court Immediately
Having no time to waste on nation wreckers and their accomplishes, it is my pleasure to throw my support behind the Management of GWCL in their quest ‘to set the records straight’ regarding my petition to the Office of Special Prosecutor (OSP).
Even though I am throwing my support behind their wish to sue me, I am solidly standing by the contents of my petition to the OSP.
I do hereby repeat categorically without any iota of doubt that, the said contract referenced in my petition to the OSP, was entered into on the 12th of January, 2018, and DEFINITELY NOT in 2016 as is being falsely stated by Afenyo-Markin.
The contract in contention, is for the supply and installation of transport pump control panel and additional items in respect of Takoradi pump house at Inchaban headworks. The agreement with regards to this contract was entered into on 12th January, 2018, when Afenyo-Markin was already Board Chairman of GWCL (Afenyo-Markin took up the position of Board Chairman of GWCL in October, 2017).
The Managing Director (MD) of GWCL, Dr. Clifford Braimah, signed on behalf of GWCL, with Mrs. Jemima Toseafa, Chief Manager, Legal Services, as witness of the MD. Eric Johnson, Managing Director of Intermec (Gh) Ltd., signed on behalf of Intermec (Gh) Ltd., witnessed by Frederick Quaye, General Manager of Intermec (Gh) Ltd.
I see threats of court action as mere banter. Real court actions constitute the fuel that spurs me on. Therefore, what is the Management of GWCL waiting for? They should proceed to Court and produce the valid agreement with regard to the contentious contract, signed by the then Managing Director of GWCL, in 2016.
I have raised issues bothering on alleged violation of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663), as amended, in the award of some contracts at GWCL in my petition to the OSP. What happens next, rests with the OSP to commence investigations into the said allegations. The public denials of those allegations cannot put an end to the matter. Only a REPORT by the OSP after investigations, may draw a curtain on the matter.
My petition to the OSP still stands, and I am ready to furnish the OSP with further and better particulars with respect to the petition I submitted to it on 20th September, 2019, at 0945 hours.
The Management of GWCL threatening court action against me for exposing the stinking to high heaven rot at GWCL, should know that their ‘unclean’ Board Chairman is the ‘world title holder’ in the contest of accusing others, falsely.
In February this year, Afenyo-Markin falsely accused the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Rev. Fr. Prof. Afful-Broni, of buying a Mercedes Benz saloon car, valued at GHS 630,000, without authorization from the UEW Governing Council. However, it later came to light that the said vehicle was a curtesy car from a dealership in Accra, where the official vehicle of the VC, was undergoing repairs.
If individuals were to be sued for making false allegations and for submitting petitions to investigative bodies bothering on perceived or alleged corruption, then the Board Chairman of GWCL, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, would be neck deep in lawsuits by now!
Afenyo-Markin petitioned the Auditor General to investigate the VC of UEW earlier this year. One of Afenyo-Markin’s struggling writers, who couldn’t make ends meet and was living on ‘dough’, and now a staff of GWCL based at Weija, petitioned the Office of Special Prosecutor together with some other individuals in the same struggling position then, on the same issues Afenyo-Markin’s petition to the Auditor General, centered on.
Has the VC or the Management of UEW, ever commented publicly or visited a former President to deny any of these baseless allegations leveled against him and the entire Management by Afenyo-Markin and his bootlickers? These are intellectuals, who will NEVER exhibit symptoms of ignorance or attempt to defend the indefensible as displayed by the Management of GWCL.
I expect to be served the lawsuit of GWCL today (4th October, 2019). Anything short of this, would amount to a tacit acceptance of the contents of my petition to the OSP.
Discerning Ghanaians expect nothing but the ‘Gospel’ truth from the Hon. Martin Amidu, not only in respect of my petition to his office in connection with the over bloated contract awarded to Intermec (Gh) Ltd. at over GHS 14million, which Sunbabsco Ltd., could have executed at just over GHS 2million, but in all other investigations that he undertakes!!
