The Minority Leader in Parliament wants the National Security Minister to address the House on matters related to Western Togoland Group.

According to Haruna Iddtisu, as a matter of security Mr. Kan Dapaah ought to address the House on activities of the Group and how government is dealing with them as soon as practicable, especially when Parliament is slated to go on  recess on 21st December, 2019.

In an exclusive interview with  gbcghanaonline.com, Mr. Iddrisu said “there is a threat to State soveringhty and stability of the country with the  cessationist group from the Volta Region in the case of Western Togoland Group”.

He thinks,  it’s important that, “the security matter is addressed by the National Security Minister on what necessary and urgent steps are being taken to  safeguard the stability and the unity of the country as one sovereign republic of Ghana”.

The Minority Leader therefore, wants the Minister to brief the August House accordingly.

On the 5th of December, 2019, Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, commenting on the business statement for the eighth week ending, Friday, 13th December, 2019 wanted to know when the National Security Minister will come to speak to the issues as discussed at the Business Committee meeting Level.

According to Mr. Iddrisu, the activities of the Homeland Study Group must be properly addressed so as not to decompose the prevailing peace in the country.

But in his response, the Chairman of the Business Committee, Leader of Government Business and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonso asked the Minority Leader to  make proper application if he wants the minister to speak to the issue.
