Naana Korlekie korley I . “Aisha Huang” of Ada, Galamsey Queenmother paid to destroy Songor revamping

‘Naana Korlekie Korley’, the deposed queen of the Terkperbiawe clan of Ada who has been ranting over the ongoing efforts by Electrohem Ghana Limited to revamp the Ada Songor concession is being motivated, in large part, by her self-interest rather than the collective interest of the citizenry.

‘Naana’ whose unrestrained outbursts and unending misconduct triggered her expulsion from the Ada Traditional Council only withdrew her support for the Songor project after making too many self-serving and unreasonable demands from the leadership of Electrochem Ghana Limited.

She is on record to have requested for the purchase of a private car for herself and for her daughter to be made the sole food vendor to the company to the neglect of other natives who continue to make a decent living out of similar business transactions with the company.

Another of her demands which the company couldn’t meet was the request for the clearance of her four forty-footer containers from the United Kingdom to further her private business. The company couldn’t meet these demands hence the turn around to join forces with the Ada Songor Lagoon Association (ASLA) to fight this ‘war’s.

Her alliance with anti-development forces and individuals with parochial interests have severally been condemned by the Traditional Council and well-meaning Ada natives who continue to applaud Electrochem Ghana Limited for the impressive progress made within the past four years in its determined efforts to transform the Songor concession from its artisanal state into a world-class salt producing site.

Her recent outburst and claims, therefore, do not reflect the sentiment of the entirety of the Tekperbiawer clan, the Traditional Council or the people of Ada. They are at best her misguided statements fueled by nothing but fleeting interests that serve her, her immediate family, and the few narrow-minded individuals whose only desire is to benefit from the Songor concession at the expense of the collective good of the citizenry and the state.
