Owusu Bempah, Demon Breaker, Net 2 TV & Others Sued Over Defamation
The Founder and leader of In Him Is Life Church International, Prophet Isaac Opoku Obotuo has filed separate law Suits at the High Court in Accra against Reverend Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah of Glorious Power Ministry International Church, Nana Osei Bonsu Hoani of Next TV and Michael Adu, Justice Kweku Annan and Net 2 Television.
The Writs which were simultaneously filed on May 19, 2020 are against a defamatory statement made against him by the Defendants and on the Defendants’ platforms.
Few weeks ago, Michael Adu who claims to be Demon Breaker and a former pastor of Bishop Obinim, added Prophet Isaac Opoku Obotuo to his list of people he described as fake men of God.
He made these claims on Net 2 Television hosted by Justice Kweku Annan.
Reverend Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah also joined the fracas; and in an interview with Nana Bonsu Hoani accused Prophet Isaac Opoku Obotuo of being a fetish priest, impregnating and fathering a child with a lady amid other allegations.
Prophet Isaac Opoku Obotuo who was initially impressed upon by people including friends and family to allow the Defendants to continue in their ignorance, said he deemed it fit to allow the law work.
He said, it is high time people who make it their daily routine to tarnish and destroy the hard earned reputations of others in the society with frivolous and unfounded allegations, are made to face the law.
According to him, although the allegations levelled against him has no effect; negatively on his image, his ministry and his businesses he thinks the right thing to do is to sue the Defendants to prove to the Court what their claims were.
“I can tell you that nothing has changes since they made those claims against me. What they said has no effect on me, my life nor my ministry. But in Ghana, people intentionally take pleasure in using just some few minutes destroying what others have worked for all their lives. I don’t think that is fair, so I have filed a case in Court against these people and I trust in the Judgement of the Court,” he said.
Prophet Isaac Opoku Obotuo said, since what they said about him are false, he will and is ready to pursue the matter in Court to its logical conclusion to “serve as deterrent to many people who have made it their hobby and profession to destroy other.”
The Defendants have all been duly served with the Writ and are to enter appearance within eight days after service of the Writ and failure to do so, judgement may be delivered in their absence.
