Rumours of Another Afenyo-Markin Sponsored ‘Demo’ To Hit University of Education
A cabal of shameless individuals, who were once arch enemies, but have now come together for the common purpose of stealing the funds of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), are busily dishing out stolen funds from both public and private sources, to thugs in Kasoa, Budumburam and Swedru, to ‘buy’ the said thugs to go on a demonstration against the management of UEW on Friday 30th August, 2019.
The reason for this planned demonstration is to challenge the constitutional mandate of the management of UEW, to appoint staff to appropriate locations by way of placement or transfers, as and when the need arises.
Because a certain crook has joined hands with some individuals who circumvented the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663) as amended, in the award of multiple contracts to their cronies, and were as a result, dismissed in accordance with laid down constitutional provisions, and others who had magical powers to turn medical claims of GHC67 into GHC3,960, as well as dethroned union leaders who stole over GHC34,000 from the Federation of Universities Senior Staff Association of Ghana (FUSSAG) and are currently paying back in installments at UEW; normal administrative decisions to transfer staff at UEW, now seems a basis for organizing demonstrations!
Where was this so-called public spirited individual, who has stolen money from almost every commercial bank in Ghana, including a theft of about US$180 million from an International Bank operating in Ghana, when Surv. Paul Osei Barimah, Esq., the current Registrar of UEW, and Mr Bruno Chirani, the Ag. Finance Officer, were transferred to Asante-Mampong and Ajumako campuses respectively from the Winneba campus?
Could it be because these two individuals had not stolen state funds to share with this pathetic and confused individual, that’s why he NEVER uttered a word against their transfers?
This common criminal, who doesn’t care whether the NPP retains power in 2020 or not, for if he cared, he wouldn’t go about using the letterheads of some revered traditional rulers for his evil agenda; sees normal administrative transfer exercises at UEW, as illegal.
If Afenyo-Markin is a real Lawyer and not a fake one, why doesn’t he head to court to challenge these staff transfers by the management of UEW, but has to resort to demonstrations?
My description of this thief as a complete failure in public office and as a baby with very sharp teeth, is apt. If not, what would respectable individuals like Prof. Joshua Alabi, who was transferred as Regional Minister from the Greater Accra Region to the Northern Region by Former President Jerry John Rawlings say? Hon. Donald Adabre was also transferred from his home Region (Upper East), where he was Regional Minister to preside over the Brong Ahafo Region. Where was this failed Member of Parliament (MP) to ‘fight’ for the above individuals and several others?
Certain persons who once described politicians’ attempt to settle the impasse at UEW as an attack on “academic freedom”, have suddenly turned to same politicians with apologies and petitions that are highly suspicious. What a travesty of justice? It is not surprising that a section of the Ghanaian public, has concluded that Prof. Avoke spoke under the influence of Afenyo bitters during the presentation of the said petition last week.
