Tarkwa-Nsuaem MP Attacks Charles Bissiw…Blows His Face @ NPP Meeting

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency in the Western Region, Hon. George Mireku Duker has reportedly assaulted a Presidential Staffer and Western Regional Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Charles Bissiw.

The MP according to information, attacked Charles Bissiw and beat him up resulting in the later sustaining bruises.

The attack on Mr. Bissiw was borne out of suspicions by Duker that Charles Bissiw is supporting an independent candidate in the Tarkwa ‘Nsuaem Constituency.

George Mireku Duker who has lost grasp of his constituents and is likely to lose the seat, is believed to be doing everything possible to ensure that persons who are not on his side are made enemies to his agenda.

Sources revealed to this paper that, the fight which ensued between the two personalities took place during a meeting with the party’s 2020 Campaign Manager and Board Chairman of GPHA, Mr. Peter Mac Manu and the National Chairman of the NPP, Freddy Blay in Sekondi-Takoradi.

This paper has gathered that, during the meeting there was some confusion about the agenda and what was relevant for discussion.

Whilst, Charles Bissiw was pushing for the meeting to discuss the Independent Candidate who is likely to sweep the seat away from the NPP, George Mireku Duker was also pushing otherwise and insisting that the focus of the said meeting must not be on the Independent Candidate.

The persistent pushing by Charles Bissiw impressing upon the meeting to look more into why a member of the party is going Independent and whose works are gradually dwarfing that of the sitting MP, infuriated George Mireku Duker who suddenly got out from his seat and pounced on Charles Bissiw.

The MP, was said to grabbed Mr. Bissiw, put him on the floor and unleashed several rounds of blows on his face.

What was initially taken as a mere fight suddenly generated into a more serious scuffle as Mr. Charles Bissiw who, in trying to defend himself bit his attacker’s finger whilst he left the meeting with a swollen face.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that majority of party faithful in the constituency are unhappy with George Mireku Duker whose relevance they said, is no more felt in the constituency.
