UEW Prepared For Free SHS Graduates: Constructs 14 Lecture Theatres
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is set to admit the pioneer graduates of the Free Senior High School policy of the government.
The Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University, Rev. Fr. Professor Afful Broni who was speaking on the University’s preparedness to receive these students, indicated that UEW has associate itself with the success of His Excellency the President and his government in regards to the Free SHS policy.
As first batch of beneficiary students of the Free SHS policy are graduating, there have been some concerns as to the preparedness of the nation’s Universities to admit the large number of students who would be seeking admission to further pursue studies.
However, the University of Education, Winneba according to the Vice Chancellor, is well prepared with all the logistics and the conducive environment that would make teaching and learning very welcoming.
According to him, “this University is very ready to receive the pioneer graduates of the free SHS who are currently completing the WASSCE Examination.”
He averred that the University under his administration has constructed fourteen (14) lecture theatres across its campuses in Winneba, Kumasi and Asante-Mampong, with ten out of these 14 lecture theatres located at the headquarters in Winneba.
The VC also revealed that Eight (8) of the 14 lecture theatres have been completed and would be Commissioned this month by the President this month.
“The rest six are at their advanced stages of completion,” he noted.
