Founder and Leader of Parliament Chapel (PCI), Apostle Francis Amoako Attah has indicated that the date of birth of Jesus Christ is not as relevant as the reasons and purpose of His birth hence no true believer needs to prove 25th December in the Bible before celebrating Christmas.
Indeed, there have been such debates as to whether Jesus Christ was truly born on 25th December as accepted by Christians. This however, usually generates into heated debates between believers of Christ and unbelievers.
But, to Apostle Francis Amoako Attah, that debate is irrelevant.
According to him, the specialty of Jesus is not only about his virgin birth or the date of his birth or even his death, but several factors which point to the purpose of His coming.
Revealing some four specialties of Jesus’ birth, Apostle Francis Amoako Attah noted that the speciality of Jesus lies in the fact that He is the only one who came to introduce the language of forgiveness.
He said: “Christmas is the season of forgiveness, that is why during this period families meet, people come together and try to reach out to each other by making amends.”
The SEER also said, Jesus introduced the language of hope. As stated in Colossians 1:27 “Christ in me the Hope of Glory.”
“He is so special that when the world was hopeless, He came to introduce Hope to mankind. That makes him special.”
Apostle Francis Amoako Attah averred that Jesus also introduced the likeness of God back to mankind, adding that in John 10: 30, Jesus makes it clear that He is One with the Father. “I and my father are one.”
He said, when Mankind and God were apart, it was only Jesus who came to bring man back to God.
“Jesus came to introduce Light to mankind. Mathew 5:14. He is the only one who told man in the face that, “You are the Light,” That is why this season when I take Him as my personal Lord and Saviour, I become the light of the world.”
According to Apostle Francis Amoako Attah, when a season comes, we don’t have to debate the date but the relevance of the season.
“We don’t have to debate anybody about the date. I don’t need to know 25th in the Bible, all I need to know is, do I have Christ in me?”
“I don’t struggle for date, I must know the person, I must know the reason and I must have contact with Him to maintain the relationship with Him which is the most important.”
Apostle Francis Amoako Attah therefore urged Christians and all believers who see the reason to celebrate Christman not to dwell on the date but what the birth of Jesus brings to them and the entire world.
