I Will Fix Sanitation Problems In Agona Asafo – Aspiring Assemblyman

An aspiring Assembly man for Agona Asafo in the Central Region, Kwesi Botwe has decried the poor sanitary conditions in the area and has promised to fix this problem if voted into office.
Kwesi Botwe who is an ardent supporter and a believer in the New Patriotic Party, said although he hails from a family that has majority of its members belonging to the other political divide, the policies of the NPP government are incomparable, hence his unwavering support for the party.
He made this remark in an exclusive interview with GO News.
The assembly election that is gradually gathering momentum has got candidates present their manifestos on different platforms promising their stake in the development of the nation at different levels.
However, when GO News caught up with Kwesi Botwe, he stressed that he is motivated by three pressing problems that he intends to address for which he is availing himself to contest.
According to him, he is a patriotic citizen and feel obliged to contribute his quota to the development of the nation and that with the solid backing from the people and the party leadership in the area, he felt obliged to champion the good course.
“I must say that I am not representing my own initiatives alone but will seek the inputs of the entire community in the development of the district to ensure the needs of the people are met.
I have also lived in the area since childhood and know the prevailing problems in the area and I am positive that with the backing of the people I can bring the needed development to the area,” he said.
He listed Education, Sanitation and Health as areas he will be focusing on.
He said he will build upon his lobbying skills to rake in more support from within and outside the country to build the economic status of the people in the area.
According to him, the sanitation condition in Agona Asafo is appalling, revealing that the whole community has only one dump site, and two containers which are inadequate to handle the tons of waste that is generated.
He said he will liaise with Zoom Lion waste management company and others to make refuse containers available in the community to help solve sanitary conditions in the area.
He said: “I also have in mind to install public places of convenience in vantage locations and ensure that this lack in feacal management system will be solved as a matter of urgency when I’m given the mandate of Assembly Member.”
Although he commended his predecessor for working towards advancing the development of the area, he also promised to build on the existing legacies of his predecessor.
“I see governance as a united responsibility. I may have many ideas but I trust that others have better approaches so, we will govern together with a united front and will bring feedback to the people when I go for district assembly meetings”.
He also said he will encourage all to support key players in this sector to implement policies they have been outlined to fix the economic goals of the nation adding that the Nana Akufi-Addo government is implementing laudable policy initiatives which all must support in order for him to realize the Ghana Beyond Aid vision.
He stated the Free SHS, 1D1F, 1V1D, Nurses allowances, teacher trainee allowances and the strengthening of the defunct NHIS and major feats the government has achieved, and for which the President must be applauded.
