KOSSA Welcomes Appointment Of New Korle-Bu CEO
The Korle-Bu Senior Staff Association (KOSSA) has expressed gratitude to the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for appointing, Dr Opoku Ware Ampomah as the new Chief Executive of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
In a press release signed by its President, Charles Ofei-Palm, he noted that the appointment of their own has shown that President Akufo-Addo has listened to stakeholders leading to his selection of a CEO for the hospital.
Charles Ofei-Palm also indicated that, “Your Excellency, we are indeed excited for the appointment, and it is amply evidenced that Dr Ampomah’s appointment is based on experience, commitment and track-record. We hereby pledge our unflinching support and look forward to collaborate with our new CEO to take Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to the heights of quaternary healthcare institution to where it rightfully belongs.”
Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon and the Director of the National Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
He is a proud alumnus of the Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC), graduating as the Best O’ Level Science Scholar in 1987.
Some of his many academic achievements after that include, the Overall Best Candidate in West Africa for the Final Exam in Plastic Surgery Part II in 2005, the first West African based practitioner to be the recipient of the prestigious Intercollegiate Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons with a specialty in Plastic Surgery. Dr. Ampomah would have made a great surgeon at any hospital abroad but chose to practice in Ghana and has not regretted the decision.
