Offer yourselves as vessels of blessing for generations

The Rt. Rev. Dr. John Kweku Buabeng-Odoom, Chairman of advisory team for Education and Youth has urged Ghanaian youth especially members of the Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) to take the destiny of the nation and the world into their hands and begin to offer themselves as vessels of blessing for generations.

“My advise for the young people in the church is basically to help them appreciate that they are the hope of the World, the hope of the Church, the hope of the Nation. They will have to position themselves to do what is right’ Rt. Rev. Dr. Buabeng-Odoom emphatically stated.

The Rt Rev. Dr. John Kweku Buabeng-Odoom, Chairman of Advisory Team for Education and Youth made the above statement at the induction service for Connexional Officers of the Methodist Youth Fellowship at a colourful ceremony at Bethel Methodist Church, Kasoa in Winneba Diocese of the Central Region.

To the newly inducted officers of the Methodist Youth Fellowship, the Rt Rev Dr John Kweku Buabeng-Odoom advised them to live life orthy of emulation by all and sundry.

“They need to live good lives, they need to conduct themselves well, they need to appreciate that God has given them the position the position at this time so that they could impact positively at their generation’ He advised.

He further added that they should not take anything for granted and no one should assume that their irrelevant.

He posited that “each person in the Church is very relevant. They can make impact in wherever the World has placed them.”

The inductees were Bro. Kwame Adu Acheampong- Chairman, Bro. Douglas O. Ofori-Amanfo- Vice Chairman, Bro. Kwabena Frempong Fening- Secretary, Sis. Betty Oppong- Assistant Secretary, Bro. Robert Amponsah-Godwyll- Financial Secretary.The rest are Sis. Cecilia Mensah- Treasurer, Bro. George Agyepong- Co-opted Member, Bro. Emmanuel Opoku- Co-opted Member, Bro. Isdor Oheneba- Ex-Officio Member and Bro. Kow Paying Nketsia Richardson- Ex- Officio Member.The Rt. Rev. Dr. John Kweku Buabeng-Odoom admonished the inductees to work harder than before to achieve the aims and objectives of the Methodist Youth Fellowship.’ It is my hope that as we have inducted them into office, they will also have impact on the rest of the Connexion and together we will build a very vibrant Church, I wish you well’ He pointed out.Taking his turn, the Connexional Methodist Youth Fellowship Chairman, Bro Kwame Adu Acheampong said they are trusting God that this period will be period that the youth will walk with God more.He mentioned the three major focus of their administration as knowing more in the Word of God, let prayer be part of young peoples life and move the Volta Mission precisely the Oti region to win souls for Christ by carrying the gospel of God to the Volta part of the Country.He added that evangelism will take a center stage in their administration to help achieve the mission and vision of the Church in the Volta part of the country.

In the area of profession, he advised members of the fellowship that ‘We expect that if you’re a teacher, you teach well, If you’re a medical doctor, you will be a medical doctor with integrity. We expect that if you’re a banker, you exhibit high level of professionalism and integrity.”

Bro Adu Acheampong in conclusion revealed that ‘we are looking at young people that will live in an environment of integrity. We want to see that members of Methodist Youth Fellowship are mention as people with integrity ‘.
