Reg. Minister Apologizes To Ga Abola Dzaasetse

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Ishmael Ashitey has apologized to the Ga Abola Dzaasetse and his entourage over his actions at his office when he extended invitation to them for a discussion over the purported installation of Dr Kelvin Tackie as a New Ga Mantse.

The meeting which eventually ended on a bad note, saw the Minister revealing to the delegation that government had spent billions of Ghana Cedis on that installation and threatened that any attempt by anybody to nullify the installation will not be accepted.

The Minister during the meeting got furious when the Abola Dzaasetse, Nii Okai Awua II told him that the Ga Mantse throne is his (Nii Okai Awua II) family Royal throne and for that matter will not relinquish it to anybody, not even for billions of Cedis.

The Minister later threatened Nii Okai Awua II and warned him to desist from using his position as a journalist with pen and paper as weapons to rubbish the installation that the Regional Coordinating Council spent so much on.

“I will arrest you if there is any attacks in Ga mashie,” Ishmael Ashitey threatened.

Meanwhile, in a WhatsApp message to the Abola Dzaasetse, the Regional Minister apologized for mistreating him and the team during their visit to his office.

“I was frank to do everything for you to know my role as the Chairman of REGSEC. I thought you came to my office as the Djaasetse of Abola rather than a journalist. If I said anything to offend the Djaasetse and his team to my office I say Sorry,” he stated in his WhassApp message to Nii Okai Awua II.

However, the Abola Dzaasetse who said in an interview that he has accepted the apology, indicated that he will in the coming days, petition the President over the conduct of the Regional Minister and how the RCC used billions of Ghana Cedis to install an “illegitimate King” for the Ga State.
