Muslim Groups Ghana Reject Appointment Of Chief Imam P.A
Muslim Groups Ghana, a pressure group has kicked against the appointment of Dr. Mohammed Marzuk Azindo by the Advisory Board of the Office of the National Chief Imam as the Personal Assistant (PA) to the National Chief Imam and the Executive Director of Sunset Fund following the suspension of Alhaji Khuzaimah Osuman.
On Thursday, 17 September 2020, the advisory Board of the Office of National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osuman Nuhu Sharubutu issued a statement over the suspension of his P.A and Executive Director of Sunset Fund Alhaji Khuzaimah.
According to the group, the appointment of Dr. Marzuk Mohammed Azindo to replace Alhaji Khuzaima is unfair to the entire Muslims in Ghana.
The group noted that, the Advisory Board made the decision to appoint someone in such a higher position without broad consultation or going through proper measures.
The group stated that, any replacement prior to the suspension must not be a direct appointment rather, an acting, to pave way for further investigation by a committee to look into the matter before appointing anyone.
The group revealed that Dr. Marzuk Mohammed Azindo is a close associate of the suspended P.A and CEO of Sunset Fund which the Advisory Board are very much aware of.
This and among other things according to the group have raised questions over such appointment.
The group however commended the Advisory Board for the action they took against Alhaji Khuzaimah and called on them to take another look at its decision to appoint Dr. Azindo and do the right thing for the benefit of all Muslims in Ghana and not for their personal gains.
